then the following upgrades were added during the restoration to make it a reliable driver and handle better… front disc brakes, very expensive wide white Goodyear radials, Heavy Duty front & rear sway bars and KYB gas shocks to make this handle well, the original parts come as part of the package should someone desire, correct FOMOCO battery, the underchassis of the car is sensational (SEE LINK), has the full dual stainless dual exhaust system and even the brake lines are stainless to keep the new look to the underchassis, looks great with the black frame, as part of the restoration, this has the fully rebuilt correct "Trigger-Torque", high torque and low friction 292cid 'Y-block' engine, rated at 198 horsepower, this "personal cruiser' was design for ease of driving, the dual exhaust system goes through the correct rear chrome bumper, power seat, this seat is finished in the proper two tone Turquoise and White seat and door panels are fully done to factory specs, all the chrome is beautifully done, the two tops certainly are desirable, we would call this a really nice, full show low #1 or a top #2 condition car, the whole engine compartment is redone and detailed for show, new master cylinder, coil, voltage regulator, radiator cap, all proper show Thunderbird show under the hood, full fluids checked and changed, the radiator was completely rebuilt for great Summer 2008 driving, fresh spark plugs, all correct expensive show plug wires, new belts, new factory clamps, proper heater hoses, correct radiator hoses, the oil filter looks authentic, full show bolt package under hood were used in the final restoration, full decals are correct, the engine compartment is really, really amazing for driven show, hood hinges detailed, new battery proper show cables, windshield washer system, new black bag, has gorgeous true spoke chrome wire hubcaps for the 1955 wheels, Thunderbird spinner centers, again to repeat, with the suspension being completely redone, brand new KYB shocks were installed to make sure the car handles exceptionally to couple the front and rear sway bars, note that the original shocks as part of the package, note that very expensive rear leaf and front springs have just been installed the dash is restored to remarkable condition, the top of the soft dash pad is dark green, has the proper and factory hammed fascia, all the gauges redone and look fantastic, the chrome surround of the header strips and the top of windows, bumpers front and rear, the 'Bullitt' points of the front grill are all finished in a high degree to couple the finish of rest of the car, all the extras that one could want, this has excellent records with the ownership title papers going back to 1961, Owner's Manual, we believe that this VIN P5FH111201 could have been the original owner, (LINK), this 1955 Thunderbird is featured as the March 2008 car in the Mustang & Fords Calendar published by Mustangs Unlimited, all of this adds to the history and value of this great 1955 Thunderbird as a true driven show car, fully detailed, one could choose a new Optima expensive battery for safe operation and easy starting, a great effort is made to make sure this is ready for top driven show condition
