the attached numbers showing the engine parts, the rear end and the transmission numbersmany, many receipts are part of this file, these cars really have beautiful lines, one of the most important cars ever made is the BOSS 302 as listed in THE GREAT BOOK OF MUSCLE CARS published in 1990, a real factory street racer, this model car was featured in Mustang Monthly as one of the most important Mustangs and Muscle cars in America, VIN #OT02G109612 shows a real '302 Boss', SEE www.fraserdante.com FOR FULL INFORMATION with data tags, history and full photos, this was a car produced only to make Ford eligible for TransAm racing with a production of 1628 in 1969 and then 7013 in 1970, produced with the heads of the 351 cid "Cleveland" V8 that are fitted to the 302cid block, this meant the 302cid that stayed within the 305 cid limit and could fight the Chevrolet Camaro Z28, this car was initially restored by an individual over a two year period, then the car was shown for while, in late 2007 and then Spring 2008, final work was completed to make the cosmetics and mechanicals top notch, this Boss 302 has won numerous awards at National Mustang shows for many years back, this was obviously full and complete restoration in top shape originally with nice underchassis detailing, it is believed the high compression rebuilt engine has less than 600 miles on the whole restoration, the 302cid engine produced a factory rated 290 horsepower at 5800 rpm with most claiming it to be actually much higher with up to 400 hp, Ford made sure this had a ignition cut out at 6800 rpm so as not to over rev the engine since this features solid lifters, the 4v Holley carberator #4653 works great, starts on the primaries and the secondaries kick in very smoothly, receipts in file show the full machine work including Magnafluxing the block, balancing the engine, new rods and other specific engine rebuild information, the Rev Limiter works, yellow top coil, recent tune on the solid lifter engine, wonderful compression, the clutch system engages well, today this has an electronic ignition hidden in the distributor to make sure it runs well, originally, these cars were made with cast pistons and they did not withstand the high rev limit, most of these blocks were replaced by Ford since the pistons were not up to par, this high revving engine couples the 290 lbs of torque, the casting is thusly D1ZE6015BA, has the factory Boss 302 finned valve covers with eBay information on the buy, the intake is a correct aluminum #C9FE9424E with proper date codes, Autolite voltage regulator, proper air cleaner, the battery has a Autolite show cover, Autolite proper show cables, the spark plug wires are the proper show, the hood mounted tachometer was a dealer installed item and has been shown in this configuration, has the windshield washer system, the whole engine compartment is nicely detailed with all the factory stampings for show, the 302 Boss was designed by the famous Larry Shinoda and was named 'Boss' because Shinoda called Bunky Knudsen 'Boss', NOTE: LARRY SHINODA SIGNED THE COPY OF THE INVOICE, correct rear back valence, black hood stripe, this car has the front and rear spoilers and the sports slats that were all specially designed, the neat C stripes were taken from Ford's GT 40 racing program, the color is extremely nice and very desirable Bright Yellow, the paint is very, very nice, no signs of any rust, the car has just been professionally buffed to the highest standards, really top, top #2 Boss 302 for sale, correct white bucket seat interior, the white headliner is in great condition, rear inner sail panels with lights are done correctly, note the back of the front seats are finished and the bucket seats nicely padded, full factory console with Hurst competition shifter, non-fold down rear seat, working heater, four factory Ford seatbelts, drivers side adjustable mirror, working Philco AM radio, new black 80/20 loop carpet, 4 Mustang floor mats, the close ratio transmission with correct linkage and Hurst shifter works fine, the brakes are brand new, both the front discs and the rear drums are just completed, new wheel cylinders, also new axle seals are completed when the brakes are finished for Spring 2008, wheels are chrome 15X7 Magnum 500's with proper lug nuts, Magnum wheel center, has new Goodyear NASCAR Eagle 235/60/15 yellow letter tires that adds to the complete aggressive look and helps this Boss drive exceptionally, date coded factory steering box with tag #SMB/9H12B, trunk is detailed with trunk cover, working trunk lamp, has the rare collapsible spare, bottle and jack, the underchassis is nicely detailed, noting it is an former rotisserie restoration and driven slightly virtually a top driven Concours car that could be brought up to trailered with some effort, even the coil springs and the springs were striped as factory, the underchassis was red oxided for trailer level initially in the 2004 era and today is a driven show car underneath, full cleaning and detailed just completed,(SEE LINK), has the red rear end chunk that is correctly date coded, the aluminized dual exhaust system has mellow Flowmaster mufflers, the floors appear original, this car is really gorgeous, straight as an arrow with wonderful luster, this handles and drives well with the power front disc brakes yielding a near perfect suspension, note that for that 1970 year the Automotive writers gave this the highest ratings for such a performance car, the basis of the Parnelli/Follmer TransAm cars, this is a wonderful restored driven show car with many credentials for many years, great potential to keep working on a car to increase its value with excellent history, fresh brakes, oil, filter, coolant check and tune just completed, brake and running lights checked for Summer 2008, as seen in the Mustang Chronicle, comes with the Show Presentation Board and lots of receipts and photos giving the history of this Boss 302, these are valuable when one shows this car, $79,950
