A 1967 Chevelle SS 396 that is really Gorgeous Red that is a full top show driven show condition car with outstanding mechanicals, fresh built 396cid with excellent compression, 402 heads, expensive Edelbrock intake matched to 2x600 Edelbrock cfm carburetors, this engine combination sounds and performs wonderfully, 5-speed Tremec transmission just installed, proper linkage, know history built from an '136' car to very exacting standards, the really beautiful Red paint is contrasted by a black vinyl top, correct painted black side stripes, SS hood, the engine has been carefully set to make the 396cid run exceptionally well with 2x4s that were fitted just for this application, has the HEI ignition, brand new clutch system with throwout bearings just installed by Fraser Dante, turned and trued flywheel, ceramic Hooker long headers, Flowmaster mufflers with aluminized exhaust system, 3 row radiator just rebuilt, brand new Vintage Air conditioning system, power steering, fresh power front GM disc brakes, working tic-toc tach, Rally wheels, wiring throughout the car is fully replaced or checked as needed, here is a Chevelle 396 that is restored to be a car one can show and be able to drive, the car looks dynamic with the striking Red paint, the black vinyl top and proper black painted side stripe, black bucket interior, full console, new black carpet, 3.73 10 bolt rear end, suspension redone with heavy duty front springs, all ball joints, tie rod ends redone, aluminized 2½" exhaust, Flowmaster mufflers, this car was built from a very solid 283cid, Powerglide Malibu with VIN#136177A1733509, the initial restorer still has the engine and transmission, this car has truly a wonderful paint and body, only the rear quarters had work on this body, the 396 cid block is a casting from 1969 and the heads are the 396/402 heads that have all been fully rebuilt, the family in North Carolina who did the initial restoration informs that this engine has flat top pistons, a roller rocker camshaft, this means with the very expensive and matched Edelbrock full 600x2 system and intake that includes the fresh progressive linkage and the aeroquiped steel lines, the engine is very smooth until the carberators are 'kicked in', the radiator is specially built three row unit so it will not overheat, fresh pulleys, all new belts, hoses and clamps, Fraser Dante just installed the final piece of the restoration with a heavy full clutch system, includes pressure plate, throwout bearing, thrust bearing, is set up with the hard to find '621' factory bell housing, the headers are matched Hooker ceramic units, the 2 ½" aluminized system really sounds wonderful, the whole suspension is fresh, the Heavy Duty '396 front springs, heavy duty front sway bar, the rear end is a 10 bolt, the car has all new chrome including excellent bumpers and all the trim pieces, has the 'bow tie' dual outside chrome mirrors, all the trim and window felt is new, the fender moldings are all new, very hard to find the correct black side stripes painted so well, new front windshield is tinted, full sized spare and jack, detailed trunk, black bucket seated interior is all new, side panels, full console with proper clock that is not working, the 12 disc CD changer is installed for great sound, new black headliner, black carpet, has the whole dash done beautifully, left dash mounted working tic-toc tachometer, has the Hurst shifter, all new Grand AM GT 235/60/15 tires mounted on Ralley wheels with Red Chevrolet hat caps, full trim rings, final check of the suspension includes the fresh control arm bushings and other such suspension work, the front end is just aligned, with the really attention to detail, the North Carolina 'car' family initially worked hard this build, then Fraser Dante worked on the car, then our customer put a lot of additional effort and time in the car with another top shop in Atlanta, then, Fraser Dante was able to get the car back and do the final preparation to make this a great driving car, the Atlanta area customer who has the car worked on and improved as stated put tinted windows around to go with the black that contrasted the Red, these could be left or taken off as per the earlier photos, looks good either way, the full mechanicals just checked, fresh everything under hood, really looks spectacular, the buffing and tune are just finished in this restoration for Spring 2008, $42,950
