Presentation of this wonderful 1969 Camaro Resto Rod is fully engineered by Fraser Dante and their top subs for maximum performance along with ease of driving in the ‘actual real’ world ready for Summer 2010, this beautiful 1969 Camaro convertible truly has stunning paint with sparkle that is outstanding, the proper black stripes are painted before the clear was put on the car, then buffed to yield really a smooth finish, new Black top, all top attachments are new, full correct black and white full houndstooth bucket seated interior, factory console, all fresh gauges in the full redone dash and console has even the working tachometer, even though this write-up is extensive, there are extremely extensive receipts in this file are for so many items that the new owner will have to go through them for their investment on this fine automobile, this fantastic ‘modern’ car was used by Summit Racing for their Atlanta showroom on the carousel display even before the final work was accomplished,
Engine has about 700 miles on this outstanding build with the final work for Summer 2010, the ‘502’ GM crate engine is highly detailed with alloy pulleys, has a GM aluminum intake, large Holley 770 cfm Street Avenger 4v carberator that is mated specifically and tuned for this engine, the standard GM carb was a 850cfm unit that was put too much fuel for the bottom end run, after careful testing, the 770cfm unit was just installed (SEE LINK), a new serpentine belt is just set up with all polished belt assembly and alloy pulleys in the final build, full MSD kit ignition system that was $849 installed, the ignition has the ability to change chips for optimum performance, this crate ‘502’ base engine had a costing of over $15,000 that did not include the installation of the engine, final selection of parts and road test tune process that is most time consuming, since this is a new engine throughout, one knows that everything is new from crank, to pistons, to fully built heads (SEE LINK OF GM SPEC SHEET AS PART OF BOOK), this has an electric fuel pump that is tied into the ignition, there is a cut off under the dash for security, the new complete Vintage air condition system is installed with the knob that one sets for summer or winter with the heating or cooling, with new this whole system is gone through and tested for Spring 2010 by a top technician, the large aluminum heavy duty “BeCool” radiator with electric fans yields excellent cooling for this big block Camaro, this work insures one can drive this powerful car in the Summer and not overheat, the engine is brand new with the approximate 700 break in miles, this means all pistons, crank and heads are fresh, this drives outstandingly, has brand new spark plug wires, hoses and clamps, all filters are fresh, new heavy duty battery cables, the dual exhaust system starts with Hooker Super Competition headers that were $454 alone and then connected to the aluminized dual exhaust system, with very ‘mellow’ performance mufflers and ‘classic’ resonators for the fresh 502 horsepower engine, this sounds great, the large ‘Be Cool’ heavy duty aluminum radiator has dual electric fans controlled by thermostats to insure this big block works well with the air conditioning,
Suspension includes stopping power that is excellent with the power 4 wheel disc conversion with all new rotors, pads and all lines, the rear end is a new Currie 12 bolt, 3.73:1 positraction, costing on this unit was over $4000 alone, these brakes stop like a ‘modern’ car, all fully road tested, the Hotchkiss heavy duty front and rear sway bar suspension add to the excellent suspension for top resto rod with updated mechanicals and this suspension to make a very streetable machine with reliable power and excellent handling, all the suspension is new with tie rods, ball joints for excellent handling, idler arm, shocks, springs front and rear, the wheels are new beautiful chromed special made Corvette Ralleys, the center caps have the ‘flat’ centers with the Chevrolet logos, wheels are 7” front and 8” rears, tires are high performance Falkens in 225/55/16 front and 235/60/16 rears, balanced and aligned with specs supplied, note, this was a very solid Southern car with photos of the start of the restoration (SEE LINK), there are extensive receipts just in the file before Fraser Dante finished its work for Spring 2010 are over $43,700 in the second builder that does not count the first person nor the car nor the final work complete work by Fraser Dante, the work that the initial person did in the start of the restoration build that are also in the file that has extensive receipts, then it went to a friend of Fraser Dante who has his work completed with five pages of specifics, (SEE STATEMENT FROM LAST RESTORER), then Fraser Dante spent a lot of money and expertise into the finish of this car, it is believed that over $80,000 in the fresh build, the drivability is really someone to feel with the goal to make this drive as good as it looks,
PRESENTATION of this 1969 Camaro Convertible as one of the most collectable cars in the USA, all ages just love the car, has the front spoiler and rear spoilers, the bumpers and all chrome trim are new, inner wheel well trim, has front and rear bumper guards on the new bumpers, lower rocker moldings, in the restoration, the a nice car was the start and then many ‘new’ GM parts like the rear quarters were done to make the lines exceptionally straight, the presentation of the car is wonderful in the fully redone interior, with the full Black and White houndstooth bucket seated buckets being completely done to high standards, full seat padding, the interior has new correct door panels nicely done, there are five seat belts for added safety, proper new kick panels, extremely nice factory specially ordered console, full gauge package with all gauges working, the tachometer is a 7000 rpm unit, nice wood factory trim, the dash is also redone to top show condition, the black dash pad is new, proper Camaro 140 mph speedometer, has a SS factory tilt column steering wheel, the black carpets are new, the new black non-power top is in excellent condition, new black convertible top moldings, new black boot that is not even installed as the metal clips might hurt the rear chrome trim and the wonderful paint, all the top belt moldings to the rear of the top are new, all the window felts, rubbers, fresh weather striping around and installation are done nicely, has dual chrome outside mirrors, all the chrome bumpers and bumper guards and full trim are new throughout,
DRIVING ABILITIES: the transmission has a ‘Hurst ‘line lock’ for roll control, this 700R was fully rebuilt in the build of this 1969 Camaro, this cost over $2000 alone, all the glass is excellent from the tinted windshield to the side glass, windows roll up and down correctly, both front and rear license tag chrome holders, the trim around the car really sets this off with the Red/Black/Chrome and Houndstooth combination, new fuel tank for clean gas, new sending unit, electric fuel pump, note that this has had floors as described with the final of the beautiful underchassis being completed for Summer 2010 (SEE PHOTOS), this work includes the bare metal painting in gloss black, note the new body bushings, (LINK), see the fresh brake and gas lines, brakes just checked (BRAKES), even the taillight lenses are new, has an electric antenna with a customer choice of radio for the final finish, right now there is no radio as this would be personal preference, the AutoSound Camaro radio would fit perfectly, this very fresh, fresh car was restored from an extremely solid Southern Camaro with VIN#124679N507458 has records showing this came out of North Georgia as an extremely nice car with photos of the original car (SEE PHOTOS), with a goal to make an extremely solid and strong convertible, floors were replaced as were the rear quarters, has the proper convertible support brace, then the underchassis is painted in pretty satin black to show the condition and prepare for showing with mirrors, the body mounts are all new, then the final detailing of the underchassis was completed with after the road test and ‘bed in’ of the parts, all this body work and paint are done to very high standards, the goal was to create this beauty with outstanding ‘eyes’, no rust found and was finished in Atlanta, the trunk is finished with proper spackle and features a ‘space saver’ spare, had the rear ‘cocktail shakers, the RS headlights are vacuum operated, note the great attention to detail in cosmetics and mechanicals, as a final note, the initial builder of this nice 1969 Camaro for sale took the car when he got married from Fraser Dante to and from the church since it looked great and performed well, then Fraser Dante finished all the detailing, all the chrome and full insignias including the awesome ‘502’ side markers are new, all bumpers with extra equipment show the attention to detail to make this is a really an investment quality 1969 Camaro Convertible stock bodied resto rod that is prepared for Summer 2010, way below costing, $62,950ALL WORK FINISHED FOR SUMMER 2010 ON A TOP 1969 CAMARO RESTO ROD CONVERTIBLE FOR SALE WITH AMAZING ENGINE, BODY AND SUSPENSION
