body with outstanding luster, really exceptional floors and suspension, correct, rebuilt 289cid block with 4v carberator, dual 'A' code proper exhaust system, equipped with power steering, power brakes with front discs and desirable dual line master cylinder for safety, has excellent chrome around car, excellent working newer air conditioning, brand new 1965 styled steel wheels, new radial 205/75/14 narrow band white wall tires, fresh alignment with specs just completed, it was completely restored with lots of receipts in the file that document the work, the underchassis of the car is correctly done with no undercoating, this terrific underchassis being painted flat black shows its excellent condition, highly detailed, VIN #5FO8D104539 has a great history, the Red paint is in very good condition with final professional buffing and preparation just completed (SEE LINK), noting that this paint was not done yesterday with a full minor places where the final touch up is completed, this final work is done for a nice local show quality car with excellent luster, car was a very early production model that was from California with the 'Black Plate' license tag as part of the package, then it ended up in Cedartown, Georgia from at least 1978, then went to Alabama with registration going back to 1987 (SEE LINK), then back and restored in the Atlanta area in the 2003 to 2005 period and then a full freshening by Fraser Dante for Summer 2008, the chrome and accessory pieces include the fuel tank filler protector, the inner area by the doors and inside 'A' pillar are just painted to match the nice outer paint, new factory door sills with Ford logo, MCA approved outer show door sills just installed, the trim work is just done, (LINK), brand new rear chrome taillight bezels just installed, correct black interior including bucket seats and door panels were installed at that time, excellent seat padding, the dash is black, all nice gauges with the new bezel, black standard steeing wheel as factory, an original FOMOCO AM radio is installed in the car, not connected since the new, expensive Vintage Air Conditioning unit is installed under the dash, this means the space is taken up as the stock air handling unit is normally on the top on the transmission tunnel and under the dash itself, should one want a radio, it is suggested to use a modern system that could be installed in the car by a specialty radio shop, original 210 horsepower engine that was completely rebuilt according to information supplied (with receipts in file) and with very good compression, the dual exhaust system is installed today, this should produce at least the 225 horsepower readings for the '65 model, has a 600cfm 4v Holley carberator and Edelbrock intake installed for optimum street performance, has the Cobra chrome air cleaner, Mallory distributor with performance spark plug wires, the engine is nicely detailed, has the excellent alternator conversion for better electrics for the lights and air conditioning system, the heavy duty radiator with shroud provides excellent cooling, fresh fluids, the underchassis is the hard area to do and this is most solid with proper convertible floor brace, photos document their fine condition, has four Mustang floor mats to protect the new black carpet, both the front and three rear seat belts are new, factory center console in very nice condition, correct '64 horns mounted on the frame, receipts show new wiring to make the ignition is good, the lights work, the brake lights work for safety, wheel balance just completed (SEE SPECS), one can chose the brand new styled steel wheels on the car or the original steel wheels with period hubcaps as the car was initially restored with, white wall radial tires, full suspension was redone top production standards with fresh springs and four KYB gas shocks around, complete new ball joints, urethane suspension bumpers, lower and lower control arm assemblies, brakes includes all conversion with brake booster cylinder, dual line master cylinder and later model proportioning distribution block, full steel and rubber brake lines, rear flex hose, parking brake assembly, all just checked when it came to Fraser Dante, (SEE LINK), all fuel lines look nice, steering assembly just checked with alignment and specs, one can tell that the hood and the driver's side fender were replaced during the restoration, the hood is the Mustang's Unlimited repro hood that is very nice, simply not perfect, all look fine with this note only to fully explain this Mustang, all chrome looks great, one could chose to add the factory optional luggage rack if they desire, note that the ' 65 and '66 Mustang convertibles are perhaps among the most collectable cars in the USA, William Ford III, the former CEO of Ford says in the group of the ads in 2003 that "if I had to own a Ford, a red Mustang convertible would be the one", the floors are in excellent condition and one of the high points of this vehicle (SEE LINK), hard to find in such fine condition like this, the rear quarters are original from all signs, there is a large restoration file of history and work that comes with the package showing its history, a very nice car with outstanding mechanicals and drives exceptionally, final check for Summer 2008, $34,950
