Recent Work and New Redline Tires Mounted Absolutely fabulous, restored 1965 'K' Code GT Mustang Convertible in Raven Black with Red GT striping, full Black Pony interior, luggage rack, all proper 'GT' fog lights and GT equipment, VIN number 5F08K776749 is on both inner front side fenders showing how correct this 'K' code has been manufactured, this car came out of a beautiful collection in the Northwest area where it had been for a number of years, has a rebuilt correct 289cid/4V, HiPo 271 horsepower engine (SEE FULL NUMBERS), the dating on the engine is a '66 version (same specs) and done to high and correct standards, excellent compression of 199 to 203 lbs in a dry cold reading (SEE LINK), has the proper #21 289 solid lifter heads that are correct for this car, an Autolite 4100 4v restored carberator with dating of C5OFJ (SEE LINK), correct Cobra chrome air cleaner assembly with special Hi-Po orange air filter, proper Hi-Po exhaust manifolds, engine detail fresh (SEE LINK), proper 4-speed transmission with correct shifter, reverse lockout, redone full Black Pony interior with 'wood' trim, both front and rear are done nicely, black padded dash, correct AM radio, new Black carpet just installed for top show appearance, Mustang floor mats, black power top with matching black boot, 1965 only correct Rally Pac with proper and correct tach, both the tachometer and clock work, all the glass is all marked 'Carlite', has correct 'wood' steering wheel and believed original, all signs show this to be a real GT, has the correct solid radiator support with round holes for the GT fog lights, the HCC GT steering box is correct (SEE LINK), has the correct electrical plugs going out of the firewall for the GT lights, the dash has the correct GT fog light and switch, factory optional luggage rack, fully detailed trunk with correct mat, standard spare with proper plaid cover, solid and clean painted underchassis, this car had some maintenance during its life and today is presented with fresh detailing on black painted floors that show their fine condition, the data tag on driver's side door shows Body (76B) Convertible with Pony interior, Color (A) Raven Black, Trim (66) Black Vinyl Pony Interior, Date (12U) July 12, 1965, DSO (55) St. Louis, Axle (5) 3.50:1 Conventional, Trans (5) 4-speed manual transmission (LINK), this has the correct factory 4 speed shifter and lockout, no console with the chrome surround on the shifter in the carpet, fresh rubber boot, the steering box is the proper HCC unit that is shown in the 'number sheets', the wheels are correct, new 1966 Styled Steel wheels with center caps and trim rings, P195/75/14 Coker dual red line radial tires just installed and balanced, the underchassis floors are painted body colored black in the finish of the restoration, there has been some chassis work through the years, nicely done with notes the front torque boxes had some minor work with very nicely done restoration, then some of the rear area was also nicely restored and worked where the spring attachments come into the chassis, this information is for full disclosure on the history and current restored condition for Summer 2008, the chassis was finished to a high degree with paint and detail that makes it look outstanding, the inside floors with carpet out are painted body colored black, the rear foot wheels were replaced in the initial restoration with exceptional work that is only seen with the full carpet and seats out, (FLOORS), note the photos that show the GT hangers under the rear seats that are correct (SEE SPECIAL LINK), full brand new expensive, hand built dual aluminized 2 ½" pipes with period original type mufflers complete the exhaust system exiting the GT rear valance, proper GT trumpet exhaust tips through rear valance, the final finish work on the underchassis bringing this to show condition with great presentation is just completed for Summer 2008 (SEE LINK OF UNDERCHASSIS), this information is to explain this very, very nice car honestly, the rear quarters have the Ford stampings in the drip rails as factory, the trunk is very nice and appears unmolested and restored, (TRUNK), fresh fuel tank, has the proper plaid trunk mat, standard spare with cover, the back up lights work with the four speed shifter that is most desirable, the headlights and turn signals work, fog lights, horn works, Rally Pac lights all work as well as the tachometer and clock when presented in the showroom, note the solid lifter #21 heads are fresh with photos that document their condition, all recent mechanical work consists of full maintenance of the engine includes correct distributor, spark plugs, MCA show spark plug wires, Marti proper stamped hoses with correct hose clamps (SEE PHOTOS), fresh oil, filter, all coolants fresh, then a road test for Summer 2008, the fenders on the car are believed to have been replaced in its life from information received and are very correct, the 'bump stop' is on the upper chassis location above the 9" pumpkin is correct and detailed, all of the chrome is in excellent condition, both front and rear bumpers, all Mustang trim and markings, has the hood leading edge, the windshield trim, all the side windows moldings, the front windshield is tinted, all of the window felts are new, note the black dash pad and interior are fully restored, has the wood trimmed dash that matches the steering wheel and the side door panels in wood, the bezel and lenses are new, has the correct Ford AM radio, even the AM radio works, all the dash bezel gauges work with a repro dated C5 am gauge just installed, (GAUGE), brand new black carpet, (CARPET), when the back seat is taken out to show the exhaust hangers and the floor (SEE LINK), one car see the power steering pump and lines for the new top have been rebuilt, (LINK), the Pony interior features the correct 1965 door sills with the black Ford logo, also has the MCA approved chrome extra door sills for great appearance, four new shocks around, complete ball joints, suspension bumpers, lower and lower control arm assemblies, heavy duty GT front sway bar, fresh
