1971 Buick Grand Sport Stage I 455cid Convertible Replica presented with outstanding 'eyes' for Driven Show, terrific mechanicals just completed for great and powerful and reliable performance, this convertible has a known history and is exceptionally solid, really beautiful cosmetics just completed with exacting effort, this outstanding Fire Red paint and fantastic body have just been finished to the highest standards, the suspension is fully built to the highest standards for top handling for driven show, beautiful chrome includes factory N25' notched chrome rear bumpers, this Red GS looks fantastic contrasted to the proper pearl white interior with the proper bench fold-down seat for '71 GS, fresh 455cid engine, casting shows as '455' 1238851, fresh heads with #'72' stampings, excellent compression (SEE LINK), proper GS foam air induction system into 4v carberator, this gorgeous convertible has just been shown in Atlanta for the first show of the Summer 2008 season with the final completion of both mechanically and cosmetically restoration to the highest standards, great effort is made to make this very correct noting all proper 'GS' air induction with foam is completed under the hood going to the 4V carburetor, highly detailed engine compartment, tilt sport steering wheel, working air conditioning upgraded to 134a, power steering, power front disc brakes, power windows, an uprated light tan canvas 'Kee' top in tan is used for optimum appearance, with the new white boot in place when the top is down, this restoration features a really wonderful paint presentation that used on a 2-owner Atlanta convertible, VIN #444671H126169 that shows a 1971 Skylark Custom convertible, after the start of the two owner Atlanta car, this was taken to North Carolina with restoration work that included the paint work with the doors, hood and fenders taken off, the whole body was block sanded, the BASF paint includes 3 coats of paint and 4 clear coats were then finished with 1500 grit and then highly polished, the original quarters, fenders and doors are absolutely straight and beautiful, the 455 engine has less than 2000 miles on the build that was the start of the process, according to the builder, the full rebuild was done to Stage I specs in the full rebuild according to information received, the 'GS' air induction has the TA polished performer intake with Holley 4v 650 cfm carb, performance Accel spark plug wires, the stock exhaust manifolds connect to a 2 ½" aluminized exhaust system with 2 chamber Flowmaster mufflers, these exit the very correct 'N25' double notched chrome rear bumper with 'GS' tips, the compression is excellent, we would assume that this engine was rebuilt to standard horsepower of the Stage 1 at least the 345 horsepower figure from what is here today, this has an outstanding engine detail with lots of effort in the 455GS intake air system, fresh tune and fluids just completed, the automatic 3 speed 400 Turbo transmission works great, full work includes the 'kick down' for the transmission that is just finished with receipt for optimum performance, the engine bay features chromed Buick valve covers and A/C bracket, to make sure this great convertible works well, all the suspension is new as this just had a 100 mile test drive before final show detailing, the heavy duty 'GS' heavy duty front coil springs match the new front disc brakes, full alignment completed, rear air shocks, the aggressive look is completed with the 'GS' optional front spoiler as well as the rear deck lid spoiler, new wheels are Buick chrome Super Stock 1s in the 8" size along with BF Goodrich Radial 255/60/15 TA tires to help the look and handling package, the highly detailed unmolested, original floors on the underchassis is finished with gloss, polished paint to show how nice the floors and frame are, this chassis area is outstanding, (LINK), to make sure the handling is top notch and just like the GS, rear sway bar is part of the package, the white interior is outstanding, has the fold down seats, door panels, safety belts, new black 80/20 carpet, 5 GM safety belts, show items like all expensive new door GM sill plates just installed, final receipts in file are to make sure a lot of the history is know, please note that in July 2008, Legendary Motors has a 1970 Buick GS for $149,950, although this is a 'built' car, this has great inherit value, lots of work has gone into the car is ready for Summer 2008 as this presentation is perfect for a gorgeous Red convertible for Driven Show, $42,950
