available, this is a very correct original matching numbered and date coded correct engine, correct Winters Chapel intake, proper heads that are date coded to the car, this car is most unusual as it has the correct Holley DZ 4053 carberator, this carburetor is very hard to get with all the proper numbers, it is rebuilt again for July 2008 to make sure that it works properly as this 1969 Z28 had been driven very little in the last few years, the excellent compression shows the engine rebuild, original matching number 4-speed transmission, proper BU rear end, 3.73:1 gear, history shows the Protect-O-Plate, the statement of the original owner along with photos of the car and his family (SEE LINK), repro window sticker (WINDOW STICKER), very rare "YH" restored wheels, there are many correct original Z28 parts are still with this car yielding great authenticity, has the original (DATA TAG) that shows this to be a X77 model, now has the uprated trim along the rear quarter and the moldings around the wheels, note that the date code of the car of 04C matches all the date codes of the engine in further substantiation of the authenticity of this Z28, the color today is Tuxedo Black with white stripes, this was repainted some years ago from the original Rallye Green color with white and flat hood originally, the professional buffing is just completed to bring out the luster (SEE LINK) and then anther professional worked on the paint to present this exceptionally well, since this very solid paint and body work is over 15 years old before the Fraser Dante work finished to the highest degree, both of these men are top in their fields and do work for high end cars like Penske BMW and the factory Porsche dealer in Atlanta, there are still only very, very minor flaws as this older paint shows a truly rust free 1969 Z28 Camaro, at this stage, this top #2 car is set for driven show, here presented are the VERY IMPORTANT NUMBER SHEET that gives all the information on what is on the car in 2008 (SEE LINK), one of the most desirable cars in the collector market is the 1969 Camaro, the top car in this market is the Z28history shows this model of a Z28 that is the famous car of the original SCCA TransAm Series that featured the Camaro's versus the Mustang Boss 302s and the Dodge Challenger, these Z28 Camaro's were campaigned by Penske Racing, this particular stock street version is extremely nice and very correct that makes this a valuable collector, investment piece, SEE THE IMPORTANT LINK OF VALUABLE PARTS FROM THE JERRY MACNEISH BIBLE (SEE LINK), note, Jerry MacNeish was a Fraser Dante to see another Camaro, for a fee, Mr. MacNeish will be able to give his valuable opinion of this car, has the full console and full working gauges, the 8000 RPM tachometer works, VIN #124379N629884 has believed three owner history, has power brakes, standard steering, the paint is just buffed and touched up to bring nice luster for a driven show car, this has the recently restored VERY RARE four original YH wheels that are hard to find and most valuable (SEE PHOTOS), fully restored and newly mounted and balanced for Summer of 2008, the process is documented with photos, these are most valuable, brand new Firestone FIREHAWK 215/70/15 radial tires that are selected, these are chosen be as close to the original E70s that came on the car, either Goodyear or Firestone are correct for the Z28 and are just installed on the restored 'YH' (WHEELS), also the spare and the correct jack are part of the package, really hard to find such a correct car, excellent body in all the floors and quarters are terrific, original quarters, from all examination that could be found and from inspection completed, the transmission tunnel and the rockers and the original seat body support were original from all examination, these no rust floors were striped and then painted black for detailing, there were still minor signs of some of the original green still showing, these floors were then cleaned and painted with black for Summer 2008, this has an outstanding UNDERCHASSIS that is fully detailed to show condition, great effort has been made to use the factory and show standards in the restoration detailing with manuals to make sure the chassis is done according to information supplied, this shows well with the full chambered exhaust, the last part of the restoration includes a full decal kit, front coil springs, rear axel and others just installed, has the new black 80/20 carpet just installed, 302cid DZ original engine has very little show miles on the rebuild, excellent compression of 190 to 199 across (SEE LINK), with the high compression pistons, full restoration on this car was initially done in the 90s and kept as a show car, then for Summer 2008, another great and knowledgeable effort was made, the car is like a time warp, these engines were underrated from the horsepower of 290 as stated, with the classic small block with 4" bore an 3" stroke, this engine is closer to 350 plus horsepower, according to the owner from 1987 to 1993 (Fraser Dante bought the car from the owner from 1993 to 2008), he states that he used Speedpro +.30 over 11.1:1 in the build, that is what the compression is so good, he worked on the steel crank and balanced the whole assembly, the camshaft was sent to California an a stock GM '302' grind was used, note that this matching numbered and dated engine has all fresh rotor, points and cap, spark plugs with full timing set and tune just done, to make sure the fuel is delivered to the DZ carberator in the tune, a new fuel pump is just installed, the engine is tuned to work as it should, the double hump heads are correct and date coded, these are most valuable, even the distributor has a date code of 8M30 and part #1111487 (FULL ENGINE PHOTOS) that shows it is a GM unit but not the original, with the ceramic headers that were installed a few years ago, the engine runs clear as a bell, should one chose, correct exhaust manifolds could be installed, even a pollution set up is available, new battery with proper battery cables and clamps, fresh oil, filter, spark plugs just installed, proper Delco spark plug wires just installed, has the rebuilt valuable DZ #4053 carberator, has the date of code of 913 that is 1969, January 3d week, just ahead of the car, please note that this rebuild is just completed for 4th of July 2008, a knowledgeable collector places the value of this carberator at least at $1500 today, when the owner who worked on the car in '93, he found this correct and dated carberator at that time and he then rebuilt it then, for 2008, it was elected to put in a brand new fuel tank with sending unit was installed to make sure there was not any sediment in the fuel tank to protect the carberator, this was done at the advice of our carb specialist, the interior is in really fine condition, proper wood sport steering wheel, 3.73:1 BU positraction, 12 bolt rear end, fresh fluid checked, note the proper power front disc brakes that have just been rebuilt with rotors, calipers, pads, hoses and hardware from Stainless Steel Corporation that are specially made for this car, these top of the line brakes were chosen for the best stopping power and long life, they are detailed for show conditions with the wheel taken off they look and work so well, the rear drum brakes have also been rebuilt to stock specs, note the very important factory original brake splitter valve under the driver's seat, this is an important piece for being a correct Z28, photos will document all the completed work, has a proper spare and jack, final work includes the full check of the suspension and the alignment of the front end to make sure it drives well, specs will go with the car, has nice upper ball joints, new rear sway bar end link kit, new inner and outer tie rod ends, new idler arm, also this is supplied with four new shocks, black heavy Duty Delco units are used with the special rear end shocks for the multi leaf rear springs (PHOTOS SHOW THE NEW SHOCKS), new body mount bushings just installed as the original ones were on the correct '69 Z28 in Spring 2008, now the look and the ride of the Z28 includes all work done to make the car drive well, note that for Summer 2008, the last refurbishment included expensive GM (not repro) stainless inner fender moldings just installed for show looks along with new lower rocker moldings and a new front spoiler for show conditions, this final completion includes a final road test to make sure it drives as well as it looks, fresh oil, filter, spark plugs, tune, radiator flush, the lighting system has been checked for headlights that are correct T3s to make this period, show correct, one could choose a modern sealed beam for better lighting, note that for show looks and excellent electronics, a new alternator is just installed, in the process, the original numbered deep grove pulley and support bracket is bead blasted and painted, all trim items are finished as this 1969 Z28 has been completely gone through and just completed, ready for driven or trailered shows for Summer 2008, Owner's Manual, $68,950
