Absolutely beautiful 1960 MGA Roadster, brand new, fresh frame off restoration to the highest standards, fantastic Chariot Red with proper Biscuit leather interior, the highest standards mechanical and full cosmetics, the original 4 cylinder 1600cc engine with dual SUs completely rebuilt, this is investment quality for a world market, every aspect is completed to the highest quality, please read this whole report to see all the aspects that have been completed in this 2008 restoration, very advanced for the era with front disc brakes and dual carberators, even the door panels and pulls and latches are done, full correct carpets, 60 spoke chrome wheels, only 125 miles on the fresh build, history shows that in Atlanta the restoration shows the body was taken off the frame, said frame was stripped, then fantastic body was primed and painted gloss black, then all the body received a complete prep and paint in pieces, the work in base coat/clear coat, all the fender welting is new when the whole body was taken apart, note that the quality of the final paint is better than new (SEE LINK), then the body was taken to the frame shop and then reassembled, the wood floors were properly replaced, the whole underchassis is like new, all the body welting is new, really a First Place quality build, note that the areas like the chrome bezels of the rear taillights and running lights are beautifully finished with new plastic lenses (SEE LINK), the grill is outstanding chrome with proper emblem, the bumpers even have the optional bumper guards with the front having the extra top piece, even the gas filler cap is chrome, the body number is shown to be on the data tag of GHNL 80065, it has a tag to "check engine" for the actual number, the engine tag that has a steel rivet to the block of 16GA-Y 11197, the 4 cylinder 1622 (1600cc) original engine is as new, with only 1904 lbs of weight, this 90 horsepower and 97 lbs of torque, this was a very spirited ride, the full rebuild features the original engine was bored +.40 over, block honed, fresh pistons, rings, rods, bearings, the crank was so good that it did not have to be turned, the head with number #15 is stamped and was rebuilt with the valves ground, springs checked, all ports were cleaned, still has the original camshaft that was in the engine was in such fine condition when checked, original correct dual SU carberators were rebuilt by an older very knowledgeable mechanic who knows these well, then tuned to the car, has the original type ignition, new water pump, timing chain, the full braking system with master cylinder rebuilt, the engine bay is better than new, new clutch system, throwout bearing, flywheel was turned, the linkage rebuilt, new gas tank for clean running, has the 12 volt system with the 2x6 positive batteries, fresh brakes are with front discs and rear drums are just bedded in, new Moss Motors correct steel exhaust with proper muffler, all the chrome trim is either redone to top standards or purchased new, left side fender chrome mirror, beautiful chrome bumpers, NEW expensive optional new 60 spoke beautiful chrome wires with spinner centers, this package also includes the original painted wire wheels (SEE LINK), the tires are new steel belted 165R15 black wall radials, all the suspension is new, all ball joints, shocks, springs and other such work is new, the 4-speed transmission just checked as works beautifully, proper shifter with handle, console, the rear end is checked, these correct units are hard to get today, the car at this juncture does not have a top, one could be build with new frame should one desire although it is seldom used, the holes are left so the seller or the buyer could add a Moss Motors tonneau that is easily done, the dash pod is freshly restored in 'as new' condition, the original redone gauges look good and work, has fresh gauge glass and chrome surrounds, event the chrome window inside vents are chrome, the stainless chrome surround around the windshield is terrific, even the windshield is original to the car, the beautiful steering wheel is completely restored to the same standards with the 4 polished spokes and the 'MG' proper center cap, very hard to find like this, NOTE that the '1600 MGA' chrome trim around the fender air intakes are new as photos document, the trunk with spare is finished as factory, has the full carpet and prop for the trunk lid, the new wood floors are done as factory, painted correct black color, the headlights are halogens for clear vision with the chrome bezels done, this does not have the softtop and could be added, as a practical point, there is very little room when this top is up, one could use a tonneau cover that would work better, there are the side curtains with very good frames, they do need some rubber surrounds if one wants to use, the Plexiglas is new with the waxed paper still on them (SEE LINK), really, the tonneau is the best way to use the car, it is fresh from stem to stern, note the factory OWNER'S WORKSHOP MANUAL (SEE LINK), this book is very helpful on all aspects of keeping this lovely 1960 MGA FOR SALE in fine running condition, this is the color and interior that Moss Motors feature in the their catalog it is so desired, the MGAs are also featured in the September 2008 Hemmings, Moss Motors has every part that one could want, the work is just finished for Summer 2008, everything brand new as perhaps this car is better than factory with the gorgeous paint and body, really, at this point $32,950, this figure is outstanding considering the
