model and is believed to be one the finest 'K' code convertible in the USA, matching numbered 289cid engine, famous, solid lifter 271 horsepower and 312 lbs of torque, fully rebuilt, correctly date coded block, heads dated, correct 'K' code exhaust manifolds, fantastic Caspian Blue that is a correct navy color, full white bucket seated interior, the seats are padded correct, the doors and full interior sides are restored properly, this has the new Ssnake-Oyl off white seat belts just installed for looks and safety, nice white top, white boot, the sides in this car are outstanding, the underchassis is highly detailed for show conditions, matching numbered engine, virtually all parts have date code codes to match, this has the VIN# on the engine, the casting is proper C5, date code is 4.L.18, #21 heads 4H3, 4H-, intake C5AE-9425-M, virtually every part is as factory with all numbers as produced by Ford, see attached 'number sheet' to ascertain correct and numbered parts (SEE LINK), the door data tag shows exactly how this car was produced (SEE LINK), the production date is December 10, 1964, all correct like the heads are '4H' right before the car, for this early production 'K' code, many consider this one of the top American collector and investment vehicles, it is finished in really top color of the Caspian Blue with the White contrast and is done to very high standards, the gorgeous base coat/clear coat was applied a few years ago and resided in a Texas collection until Fall 2009, this car was found in Sweeny, the data tag shows as '61' DSO of Dallas, from research completed, this was in the collection of Gillis Hall from the 1992 period until 2009, Mr. Hall had found the car already restored, put it away for his collection and investment purposes, he said in 2009 "this is a good car", the final buffing to finish the OUTSTANDING LUSTER has been accomplished with quality better than factory, this is most desirable today, these 'K' code cars done to this restoration degree have a large, international audience, there are many specific items that are shown with "The 289 High Performance Mustang 3d Edition by Tony Gregory used as a reference guide, the 2+2 'K' fastbacks were the basis for the Shelby GT 350s, then very few of these GT 'K' codes were convertibles, a final prep is made with check of every cosmetic detail along with all mechanicals to make sure this drives exceptionally to couple the cosmetics, even the brake cylinders and full shoes are checked, the underchassis is prepared to be a trailed, mirrored presentation 289', the proper front harmonic balancer, dual point distributor, an Autolite 4100 4v restored carberator with period dating, correct Cobra chrome air cleaner assembly with special Hi-Po orange air filter, proper Hi-Po 'K' exhaust manifolds (SEE LINK FOR CLOSE UP OF ENGINE), correct dual exhaust aluminized system with hangers and proper mufflers, proper dual point distributor, the engine detail fresh, all the hoses are FOMOCO stamped, very important, Ford 4-speed top loader transmission fully rebuilt according to information supplied, fresh linkage just adjusted, then road test completed to make sure this proper 4-speed transmission works as it should, there is a list of 'K code specific parts that are listed and shown in the 289 'K' code Tony Gregory book and then verified with notes (SEE LINK), has the 1965 styled steel wheels, center caps, brand new Dunlop SP40 205/70r/14 narrow band radial white walls just installed with high speed balancing, the rear end is detailed with red oxide, the dating is C5, the tag shows this to be a correct 3.50:1 unit, the correct braking system are drums around that are absolutely correct for this dating, these units have just been checked for safety, (SEE LINK), note that only the later Mustangs would have GT front discs, really excellent original underchassis, the front suspension is new, new, all the tie rod ends, ball joints, correct sway bar with bushings are new, (LINK), items like the 'A' arms have the silver/black painting, note that this even has the driveshaft that is striped for showing, (SEE LINK), believed to be low mileage chassis from history given, all original to the best of careful examination, really fantastic body parts, all the stampings are factory with the Ford numbers on the inner fenders under the hood, the driver's side VIN is clearly visible as it should be, has the FORD stampings still on the outside lower rockers, has the FORD numbers on the inner drip rails of the trunk, the white dash is finished as factory, fresh bezel, all gauges new and working, has a newer Mustang radio unit installed today, all of the lighting system is checked, note the chrome and stainless around the car is fully detailed, car is equipped with show left side driver's mirror, has the optional lower rocker moldings, spare tire, jack, see the correct white steering wheel, the front fascia of the dash is white, the proper bezel is in place, detailing just completed, the top blue pad of the dash is new and correct, all the interior sides are redone, door handles and window cranks down, it is hard to find such a good Mustang 'K' Code convertible today with these cosmetics and mechanicals checked for enjoyment of this 271 horsepower performer, tremendous knowledgeable work completed for this true
