Exterior: this car has very, very ‘good eyes’, the paint was recently done to driven show condition, then for Spring 2010, a professional ‘finisher’ has worked the paint to outstanding luster (SEE LINK), no signs of rust seen, has excellent chrome and stainless trim around the car, terrific chrome bumpers both front and rear, all the SS454 trim is in place, has great fitting stainless pieces that are hard to find, see the trim around the front windshield and the rear window that fit very close to the glass (SEE LINK), they are difficult to find in condition, the inner fender moldings and the lower rocker moldings are great, has believed original floors that are most solid, original quarters with only minor working in the lower parts from examination as best described, they look great and the sides are straight, (SEE LINK), history shows that this came from past owner in Atlanta who is a professional with a group of Texaco service centers, this was his personal show car, the attached note (SEE LINK) shows that he has $40,343 invested even BEFORE Fraser Dante finished the car with both cosmetics and fluids for Spring 2010,
Running Gear; the very expensive and top performing Moser 3.73 with Eaton positraction 12 bolt rear end just installed, chrome chuck cover, these rear ends bare dealer costing of $2374 plus extensive installation, has the expensive TREMAC/Keisler TRG-A2500 transmission, it is made for the 550/550 ft lbs of torque with the 5-speed low profile transmission just installed, full gears for the speedometer, custom driveshaft, costing of $4474 for the complete kit plus professional installation, (SEE INVOICE DETAIL), has newer GM power steering unit, has power front disc brakes, the rear drums are redone, new 235/60/15 BF Goodrich radial TAs, 15x8 Ralleys with flat disc caps, trim rings, matching spare, very tight steering box, alignment just completed, the 454cid engine has casting of #14015445, shown as a ’78 to ’90 454 block, build backup is given with the compression of 142 to 148 lbs across in a dry cold reading, this is excellent for the period, (SEE LINK), very high torque engine, the mechanicals include the hydraulic lifter heads, 11” Keisler titanium/aluminum bell housing for 168 tooth flywheel, new wiring harness, fresh tune just completed, polished ceramic Hooker headers leading to dual 2 ½” aluminized exhaust system with Flowmasters, great ‘rumble’ and mellow sound with clean exhaust,
Interior: has really nice black bucket seats, headrests, the whole interior features these seats well padded, GM retractable seat belts, has new headliner, full door panels, all the inner door handles are nice, windows work well, new headliner and side panels, has new black carpets, floor mats, VIN#136371B135362 is a most solid Chevelle, has the expensive Dakota digital gauges installed in the stock dash location, proper console refinished, has a tachometer mounted on the console as period, new stock style AM/FM radio with uprated internals, correct sport wheel, the trunk is nicely detailed, matching spare and tire, full jack and handle just detailed for show, trunk mat, there is a large file of the instructions for the uprated parts used in this build, this is excellent for value and maintenance, Chevrolet Chevelle 1971 Owner’s Manual, an exceptional 1971 ‘454’ Chevelle that can be used to Cruise nights or a nice fancy ‘date night’ car, an exceptional buy at way below build costing, $31,950
