HISTORY: history shows that this VIN5T09A180568 #came out of Charlotte, North Carolina from Bruton Smith’s Town & Country Ford, it was found by a top Mustang collector and restorer in Atlanta who spent a great deal of time along with his receipt file of about $4400, went to test @ local shows, then acquired by Fraser Dante to finish the restoration for Summer 2010 with testing of the real factory GT P10, hard to find a ‘real Rangoon Red 2+2 GT with excellent steel, this is the body used by Shelby for the GT350s, items like the side scoops are nicely presented with the chrome inserts, the great body is exceptionally straight, the paint have just had a professional high speed buffing just completed (SEE LINK), luster is terrific, no signs of rust that can be seen, note the front and rear chrome bumpers are new, all the side markings, the rear taillight bezels and lenses are fresh, has the leading stainless hood edge, has the GT proper GT wiring from the firewall, the wiring goes out an believed original radiator support with the round holes to the GT lights in the front, of course the GT exhaust exits the rear, the lights work, with TWO BUILD SHEETS, this correct GT is a rare find, the authenticity with the numbers and dates, the solid body make this a top find, the lower rockers under the door has the Ford stampings,

Engine: the believed original and excellent 289cid ‘A’ code engine with hydraulic lifers is rebuilt from all careful examination, high and correct compression in dry cold readings of 148 to 160 lbs (SEE LINK), the date code of the block is 5E27, correct casting (SEE LINK), the check of heads and examination show the rockers are fresh, fully dated heads of 4H (SEE LINK) that show rebuild and the authenticity, the rebuilt and valuable dated Autolite 4100 is used, it is mounted on the C5AE Ford intake (SEE LINK), full engine show detail finished for Summer 2010, horsepower was factory rated at 225, at least 10 more with the ceramic tri-Y headers leading to a full dual exhaust system, the package includes original Ford exhaust with original H-pipe Ford oval mufflers (LINK TO ORIGINAL EXHAUST, MANIFOLDS), now has the correct show Ford chrome valve covers along with the original gold valve covers, Cobra air cleaner assembly and heat shroud tube (SEE LINK), these original parts plus the newer headers and shifter make this very easy to drive, the original ignition is used, fresh points, condenser, new spark plug wires, new plugs, new coil, the wiring is fresh throughout the whole car, even the alternator has a new harness, the running condition is checked with a road test in 90o heat to show it works well,

Interior: the full red bucket seated interior is completely redone, has original dated ‘1-65’ Ford seat belts, factory FoMoCo Philco AM radio (SEE PHOTO), or one can have the Custom Autosound AM/FM fitted for this Mustang that is now installed (SEE LINK), all "Carlite" original glass except windshield, new rubber inserts for window seals around the doors, new headliner, fresh red seat covers and padding, new red full door panels, has the arm rest in red with chrome trim, all new door handles and window cranks, full carpet kit, ‘fold down’ rear seat, fresh dash bezel and knobs, has the ‘Sunpro’ added gauge set with water temperature, oil pressure and volt meter to monitor the engine functions is mounted under the dash, red steering wheel, 4 rubber "Mustang" floor mats, dual outside sport mirrors, the rear fold down seat works well, has the new carpet and the chrome hinges are very nice, working windshield washer system, full new chrome taillight bezels with original taillight lenses, these trim pieces look great, all the stainless trim around the rear window is nice as these pieces are hard to find,

Running Gear includes new 1965 14x5.5” chrome styled steel wheels with proper center caps, lug nuts, one can have show 6.95x14 BF Goodrich Red Line tires or the newer single red line 205/75/14 Coker Classic radials now installed (SEE LINK), the shocks are new, excellent 4-speed transmission that has the proper dates and C5AR numbers (SEE LINK), now has the Hurst shifter for better performance and one could chose the original 4-speed shifter linkage with reverse lock-out (SEE LINK), this transmission is attached to a very rare aluminum bell housing, very hard to find today, the proper axle and rear end chunk has the correct earlier casting and tag that shows the 5FB 901 (SEE LINK), the ratio shows as 3.00:1, the rear end is finished in proper red oxide and has fresh fluid, the front GT sway bar has the fresh bushings, note the original type ‘A’ arms with factory ‘notch’ that are detailed, (SEE LINK), all the tie rod ends, ball joints are excellent, note the rear drum brakes are fully checked with dry wheel cylinders, the front disc brakes are virtually new, the dual piston brake calipers have #56977 on both sides, the clips have FoMoCo stampings on them, these brakes are highly detailed with photos for documentation (SEE LINK), the radiator is just flushed with fresh coolant, the FoMoCo hoses and clamps are new, factory radiator cap, shock tower brackets are the uprated chrome or stock black ones could be changed, excellent headlights are the modern, expensive flat faced Hella H4s, this is a top road show car,
