Note the 1951 Operator’s Manual, the Chevrolet 1951 Advance Design Brochure and the Supplement to the Truck Shop Manual (SEE LINK), come with the package, the sides and body and cab are exceptionally straight, the luster in the paint in wonderful, ONLY the correct running boards have been redone with the repro fiberglass that are painted correct black with the ‘Chevrolet’ stainless step plates, (SEE LINK), full optional chrome package includes left side mirror is chrome as well as the right one, redone headlight chrome bezels, headlights work, aluminized exhaust extension, the window trim around the great glass both inside and out has all new rubber seals, all new safety plate glass, chrome front bumper and proper rear bumper, full front grill, red lettered chrome correct hub caps, VIN#5JS-L 1068 shows this was made in Kansas City, most of the restoration was done initially in Kansas with the finish in Atlanta for Summer 2010, truly one of the most beautiful trucks we have seen, all the side 3800 chrome trim is new;ENGINE: very smooth running stock 235cid 6 cylinder, this factory rare engine was rebuilt top standards, compression is excellent (SEE LINK), as this shows with the 150 to 156 lbs across that the internal standards are exemplary and better than stock, this block was chosen for the strong regular bearings, the block casting is #3764476,the date code is D.14.9, the head is 3836848 for the ’56 matched 235 application, with the bolts through the top of the valve cover, looks stock, has the upgraded ignition so the truck works well, has Mallory Unilite distributor ignition, couples to the 12 volt system and full wiring looms, the build of this stock engine is exceptional to be able to drive this wonderful 1951 3800, works perfectly, all NEW spark plugs and plug wires, belts, hoses and clamps are just replaced, rebuilt single one barrel carburetor with stock large oil bath air cleaner, has the optional oil filter, highly detailed engine compartment, new full clutch assembly, throw out bearing, this now has been on a road test, the desirable 12 volt system with alternator conversion completes the with proper upgrades so it starts and works exceptionally (SEE LINK),
Driving condition includes the headlights work well, stock speedometer, all factory gauges work in the dash, dual rear Chevrolet red taillights with chrome surround bezels, even the windshield wipers work, the beautiful steering wheel is redone to stock including stock horn button, beautiful show quality natural oak wood bed with new polyurethane just applied, this extensive work is just completed with 10 coats of sanding and varnish, the final coat is a gloss Marine varnish for looks and protect, (SEE LINK), stainless strips, sides of the bed and rear gate are straight as an arrow, new chrome bed chains with covers to protect the rear area, Chevrolet logo on gate,
RARE BODY, most of these 3800’s came in stake beds, flat rear areas, hard to find a standard pickup bed as on this 3800, thusly rare in its presentation, correct and hard to get 7.50x17 4-ply Tornel Trac bias-ply black wall ‘knobby’ tires, black painted wheels, the driving is really top notch, factory stock proper new naugahyde interior with new seat padding, full factory headliner and top of cab is done, correct door panels, this 3800 has outstanding an knowledgeable finish work all along the inside of the windows with trim, the rear window has new rubber, the VERY HARD to do side vent windows have been taken out and completely redone as new, a very hard project, great refinished cab floor boards, all stainless steel bolts are used, new rubber mat, dash is completely redone with deluxe trim on glove box, all of the dash colors are correct as it has been restored, new brake shoes, brand new master cylinder, suspension has new kingpins, new front springs, heavy duty rear springs, braking check on fronts with photo documentation show new condition, careful attention to items like the working heater and defroster, the wipers work, even the courtesy light in the cab works,
