1966 Mustang ‘C’ code Signalflare Red Convertible beautifully restored with extremely high standards both cosmetically and mechanically, here is terrific presentation of an extremely nice, superior quality 1966 Mustang convertible, this Classic Mustang is highly desired as it is painted the beautiful original 1966 Mustang Signalflare Red color, excellent appearance with very, very pretty paint with terrific luster, Black bucket rosette interior,  strong, fresh 289cid engine with Autolite 2v carberator setup, excellent compression, highly detailed engine bay, proper ‘C’ code aluminized exhaust and muffler system, full detailed Red Oxided show underchassis, fitted with the desirable C4 automatic transmission, new 1965 Mustang styled steel wheels, radial white walls, Black convertible top, excellent fresh suspension with shocks and springs that are show marked, full trim redone, just gorgeous paint and presentation, ‘GT’ A code upgrades are available, note the copies of the Ford Mustang 1966 Brochures are provided (LINK),

HISTORY: found in North Carolina as a show car for many years, the original data tag was on the car that shows this came from Iowa (SEE LINK), as an original Signalflare Red, a color that is very desirable for showing and collectability, in the initial restoration, the seats were changed from the bench to buckets with all new padding and the Black Rosette vinyl, the new data tag is just provided by Kevin Marti that shows the new setup (LINK), a top Mustang shop worked on the newer chassis detail in North Carolina after being found from the long time collector, then great effort is accomplished by Fraser Dante’s experienced shop in Atlanta to bring this 1966 Mustang convertible to even higher standards with a top restoration staff, many, many hours of work is accomplished to produce a sensational show detailed underchassis with expert professional restoration with proper red oxide (SEE LINK), said work sets this 1966 Mustang to a high standards, note the date codes of the engine yield information how correct this 1966 Mustang convertible remains Christmas 2011, note that at recent auctions, these good ‘65-’66 Mustang convertibles sold between $38,000 and $53,000, even at these prices one cannot be sure of the running condition of those cars with note that Fraser Dante has made every effort with all final test drives to ensure this 45 yr old Mustang can be driven safely and with enjoyment as well as top cosmetics, this chassis and paint are really exceptional,  

ENGINE: this stock fresh 289cid engine shows its strong condition with excellent compression of 150 +/- lbs in a dry cold reading (SEE LINK), data shows that the date code of 6C14M is very correct, all signs that this is the original and rebuilt engine, the famous and smooth hydraulic lifter 289cid engine with 200 horsepower is easy to maintain and has a strong torque and good horsepower curve, heads show how fresh and clean the engine is today, the intake is C6 dated, has the correct Autolite 2V carberator ‘C’ Code, correct air cleaner, note the attached (NUMBER SHEET LINK), detailed to MCA driven show presentation, fresh distributor with full tune, new Ford spark plug wires, has the round case rebuilt alternator, just flushed correct 3-row radiator with cap and shroud for excellent cooling, original style clamps, new hoses and belts are just installed, has the new Motorcraft battery and new battery cables and running test to make sure the belts work well, this Mustang came with the standard steel single aluminized exhaust system and cross muffler as factory,

Note Upgrades: the 2v system can be upgraded to the GT 4v intake and carberator using the Edelbrock/Holley system, this looks stock when finished, one can add items like GT Stainless steel front disc brakes can be installed (LINK), will retain rear drum braking system, full brake lines both steel and rubber, this will add stopping power, then one can also add the GT dual aluminized hand built dual exhaust system with ‘H’ pipe (LINK), the final change to the 225 horsepower is the uprated 4v Edelbrock intake and 4v carberator as these will be prepared in proper colors for show judging while yielding power, light weight and fuel economy see (LINK) of installation as used before, these changes are especially desired for the European and Scandinavian market, will do well in shows,

SUSPENSION: here is an effort to make sure this Mustang drives in an outstanding manner, four new shocks, the rear end chunk is prepared in red for proper show presentation with fresh lube, fresh sway bar bushings, ball joints and end links installed, (SEE LINK), good alignment, then to complete the project, brand new very desirable 1965 chrome styled steel wheels, center caps, the tires are 195/75R14 Bridgestone narrow bad whitewall radials, one could also choose the factory correct factory show 6.95x14 B.F.Goodrich Silvertown's (LINK),
