the quality for this Thunderbird is now right below the trailered class, nicely frame on, fresh solid prepared underchassis, constant work then with the final prep for Summer 2015, the presentation of this 1957 THUNDERBIRD is really priced at well below costing to build such a top driven show car that has lots of extras and really excellent mechanicals, all the chrome and trim on the car are like new, the large chrome bumpers and grill look absolutely great, areas like the windshield chrome and stainless are beautifully done, the important items like the windshield header chrome is beautiful, hard to do like this, the glass is well set in with proper rubber seals, the side windows go up and down correctly, the side windwings look and work great, chrome outside driver’s mirror,

According to the factory Data Tag, this 1957 Thunderbird is the original color of RR, Torch Red with Red top, now has a extra white porthole hardtop including the valuable storage stand, the XH trim is the factory Flame, Date Code 25X is an October 25 production date, Trans Code 3 for Ford-O-Matic Transmission and Axle Code 1 for 3.10:1 ratio (SEE LINK OF DATA TAG), the chrome wire wheels have been balanced and trued to run very smoothly,

Engine/transmission: has the correct ‘Y’ block 312cid engine, note the attached list of numbers, that leads us to believe this to be the original rebuilt engine, this has a Holley 4v carberator that is set under the stock, chrome air cleaner, this carb makes this Thunderbird run stronger and  more reliable and get better fuel mileage, original factory rated at 245 horsepower with good low end torque, the compression is excellent of 150 to 158 lbs in a dry cold reading (LINK), this is within 8 lbs and will deliver a higher reading when warm, shows recent rebuild, has show chrome air cleaner, proper Thunderbird finned valve covers, full dual aluminized exhaust system that has mellow sounding mufflers through the correct rear chrome bumper, the special Petronix ignition is fitted in the original distributor housing that yields top spark, the values have just been checked by a top senior technician, fresh oil, new Autolite #124 spark plugs, new 7mm Belden Spark Plug wire set, new distributor cap and rotor button, full check and setting of the Holley 4v carburetor by top technician and ignition timing with road test completed,  

Cooling: since this has spent the last few years in the South, has the uprated and expensive aluminum radiator that makes this 1957 Thunderbird run cool, this has the factory blade fan, all the lines, hoses and fittings are new and have been replaced with final testing for Summer 2015, the temperature gauge works, even the battery looks stock from the outside but is a new modern battery stock sized unit that is the group 29NF that is a NAPA Professional Series, new cables with disconnect that is in the stock location is best for operational use while maintain a stock look, fresh fluids have been added,

Running gear: built on a 102” wheelbase, this these 1957 Thunderbirds have independent coil spring front suspension, has the Ford power steering with new steering parts, all new lines and fittings, good bushings, the brakes have been checked both with the expensive uprated front disc brakes and proper rear drums and cylinders that are new with full check Summer 2015, photos of this system will show how fresh the work is (LINK), steel braided brake hoses, then shims and the final alignment set, highly detailed, observation shows the fresh driveshaft and U-Joints, front sway bar and added rear sway bar for excellent handling new leaf springs, rear semi-elliptic leaf springs, four brand new shocks just installed,

all the new rubber lines for the build, the driveshaft has been completely restored to technical and show specs from the last owner, the optional stainless chrome Kelsey Hayes design wire wheels are fitted to the car so the rear skirts fit with the whitewall radial tires, these have to be specially made for the inner offset to make sure they fit inside the factory skirts, these specific wheels were balanced and mounted, then taken off and balanced again to insure smooth rolling of the wheel/tires combo, the tires are expensive 205/75/14 Coker Classic Wide Whitewall radials, they look and handle great, final test miles to ensure top operating condition, the disc brakes add to the stopping abilities, extremely nice underchassis (LINK),

the Fordomatic automatic transmission shifts effortlessly and works as it should, the rear end is dated with noted items including the tab on the rear end, it is detailed in proper red oxide, one can tell this is a frame-on car, the floors appear to be original and have been worked to a high degree, the structural side supports are believed to be original and very strong as well,

Current: all gauges restored with proper working tachometer, quartz rebuild of the clock, factory style Custom AutoSound radio with modernized internals, the red interior is finished with all padding and springs, red safety belts, door panels complete the look, all chrome inside has high perfection of detail that includes the chrome base of the shifter showing attention to detail in the restoration, the white porthole hardtop is finished with same quality including the headliner and all chrome latches, has a stand included with the complete package, the white softtop fits beautifully, the spare tire with proper expensive jack and handle are in the trunk, which is carpeted in red with full finished with bound seams,
