HISTORY OF THIS 1960 AUSTIN HEALEY MK1 3000 BT7Note that the first 'big' Healey was the 100 model shown at the Earls Court shown in 1952 and then first produced as the 100/6 with bodies built with Jensen of West Bromwich with then the final assembly at the MG factory at Abington, Oxfordshire, built with a very solid chassis, has the cam and peg steering, solid rear axle and equipped with strong front disc brakes, this has really a full, famous restoration a few years ago and then kept in very safe hands, see the note from the second owner who sold this to Kurt Tanner (LINK) for his famous restoration that is completed with lots of documentation…now updated and ready for Spring 2019 shows, see the listing of all the ‘numbers’ on this famous Healey to confirm the authenticity and fine history (LINK), clean and solid underchassis (LINK), very seldom does see such a fine design with great restoration and setup,
transmission/engine: this has the correct 4-speed transmission with the working overdrive, also the very important statement for an investment car with the matching numbers engine (SEE LINK) of the proper and rebuilt 2912cc or 177.7cid, 3.125” bore with long 3.50” long stroke giving 124 horsepower and a very strong 150 lbs of torque, pulls just amazing, these solid lifters that work great as they are just set, working great are the rebuilt dual HD6 SU's, correct air cleaners, after the Tanner build, this was in a collection of a friend of Fraser Dante, when now offered for sale in 2019, a full professional tune and updating was just completed by a Senior British tech, fresh Champion N12YC spark plugs just installed, this engine really full new oil and filter, then re-detail of the engine bay, it just purrs,
note: since this has sat in a collection the last 2-3 years with only occasional driving, the original and dated very valuable radiator was fully checked by Fraser Dante, this unit was just pulled and sent to our top radiator specialist, it was completely taken apart and the upper and lower tanks were saved, the cooling fins and core are completely new, fully re-corded, new cooling fluids, (LINK), all new proper hoses and clamps, this costing is about $600 all in, very valuable to drive and for great history, there are photos that show this work (LINK),
