
A fully restored 1967 Mustang GT 2+2 '390' Fastback here is perhaps the finest street driven, CandyApple Red completed in July 2009 with a show restoration built to MCA standards with only minor over, crank turned +.010, all new rods, flat top pistons, roller camshaft, dated '66 'S' heads are fully rebuilt with valves, hardened valve guides, new accessories as double roller timing chain with cover, Edelbrock carberator chosen for the best performance, everything needed in rebuild as needed, this great 390cid engine is rated at stock at 325 horsepower and 427 lbs of torque, today this produces about an honest 350 horsepower that is set for great for cruising, good torque was the object, , proper air cleaner, has the rare smog equipment, fresh oil, filter, spark plugs, the exhaust manifolds that are detailed to stock, all of these pieces make the car work extremely well and look factory complete this engine bay is highly detailed for stock show presentation with proper air cleaner, all markings, the exhaust manifolds exit via an aluminized full exhaust system with 'H' pipe and mellow sounding Flowmasters with the rear GT tips, rebuilt 4-speed transmission, completed as Mustang Club of America top driven show car, www.fraserdante.com shows the photos and information upon request, a CD documents the whole process and the finished car, there is an extensive, extensive file for the history of this car, all the floors and rear quarters are replaced only as needed, the magnet sticks virtually everywhere, it is important to note, that in the 2003 period onward to 2010, the 1967 and 1968 Mustang 2+2 fastbacks are in great demand, especially when they are stock and have a correct big block as they look like the new Mustang that is produced with many variations steering wheel, has the desirable wood and aluminum steering wheel, the interior is as new with a top specialist finishing all the work with dyeing, carpet, side panels, fold down rear seat with red carpet, fresh chrome trim, car has brand new correct power, dual line front disc brakes with no power steering as factory, steering box rebuilt, wheels are the Ford 'R' codes with a B.F.Goodrich radial TAs that are balanced with top alignment, this car is easy to drive, many people desire the Mustangs exactly like this as they really steer better set up like this, with the Traction Lock rear end is just fully rebuilt so you can put the power down easily, a top, top driven Muscle Car show car, has the fold down seat for the rear, all the interior is fully restored with side panels and headliner, full size spare on regular wheel, the paint is extremely nice with a two month effort to strip, replace minor metal pieces, saved the 3 VINs on both inner fenders, Ford numbers on most of the rockers, all sides are straight as an arrow, the CandyApple base coat, clear coat paint was applied, allowed to cure, then the wonderful shine was accomplished at the end of the process by a professional 'finisher' who spent 10 hours to buff this paint, excepting extremely minor areas that are seen only under intense light stop this from being a trailered car, that is, the goal was to make a 2+2 that one could drive, this is a honest description of the car, only these tiny areas stop this from being almost a Concours paint, the suspension on this car is all new, bushings, shocks, front and rear springs, ball joints, all the front end is new, the steering box tight, the alignment work is outstanding and set to drive well straight, this has the oversized Shelby front sway bar, the rear end is held to the ground under acceleration and braking with the optional Shelby traction bars, these are the only changes to complete a stock GT and make this one of the best handling Mustangs one could drive, all the floors, fenders and rear quarters are in excellent condition, steel everywhere, this has the Ford numbers everywhere on the car, see the trunk inner drip rails have the Ford stampings, the magnet sticks virtually everywhere, note the underchassis of this car is detailed for top, top driven MCA show car, the full interior is also terrific, beautiful red buckets and full interior look terrific, all the door handles both inside and outside are new, the gauges and full dash bezel are correct and work, the Mustang newer AM-FM radio with antenna works, note this has very expensive and hard to get NOS trim pieces around the rear window, front windshield and other such areas, these pieces fit way better than the reproductions, if found, they are worth $2500 alone, note the data tag on the door has the correct original information that is shown on the attached page, starting with only $20,000 for a real 390 car, expenses of $99,430 were just added up, since this work was accomplished at a low basis set for back in 2006, this fine build could not be finished for that price going forward, in the final preparation, another Mustang expert did the final test drive with Fraser Dante with the excited comment that "this car performs better than any Mustang I have even driven", this is from a collector who only has $200,000 to $325,000 big block Mustangs, there are attached sheets to this report, again, there are extensive notes of all parts and labor to accomplish this goal of perhaps the best driven show Mustang ever, this is the best that
